CHINA-GIVE WAY...INDIA COMETH

Oye China ! Thou be a super-power? We Care not! We be on the way...the faster way... our budding Hockey players are cutting the grass yet. They will be done in a few years. Then they will play in these grounds. Off with your astroturfs, off with your technology, off with your hyperactive players. Tremble China tremble. Nothing will then save you. No stopping for us.

Hail India !!! (And Mampi stretches out her arm to do the 'Hail' action)

AS THE WHOLE WORLD CELEBRATED BEIJING OLYMPICS OPENING CEREMONY, THESE GIRLS WERE SERVING THE NATION IN THEIR OWN WAY.

I wonder what Gill unkil has to say about that, since he still likes to think of himself as 'the president of the federation'.

absolutely the spirit... the ethiopians and somalians, despite being from the poorest countries, come here and win the gold in the long distance events...

i hope a field full of grass doesn't stop our girls from going ahead full steam...

all the best to the contingent...

do u know...i cried when Leander won the bronze and the national anthem was played...i guess that's the first time i felt remotely patriotic. being from a crazy state like west bengal where you are supposed to carry umbrellas when it rains in peking and moskva, patriotism was kinda underplayed and almost unknown...

am glad am out of the clutches of that state, although india still isn't out of the clutches of internal viruses like Prakash Karat and Yechury...

sorry to digress... brilliant post, i hope the satire is not lost on the denizens of a politically screwed up country

I liked every bit of your word and the reason why i liked it so much was that the manner in which you conveyed your sentiments. You words are spirited not pathetic. It is a satire but still asking us all to move on.It is an awakening call, well done. Here I will like to add that let us not complain. Let us play our part. Let us not find the fault in others, rather excel our own beings. I am proud to be Indian. Believe me dear readers, we are moving steadily and we will win. Love your country, play your part.Enjoy what we have, so what if the growth is slow, so what if we have a few black sheep. Time has to change and i am sure it will change for good.

SAI or other concerned are only CONCERNED to mint money.

Seema-Good morning kahi janey aa, hor kee.

Liju-Amen to your wish.

Mama-We were talking about KPS Gill unkil. MS Gill ta hajey kall aya wichara.

This is really sad portrait of this country...I will just wish after yesterdays great achievement by Abhinav Bindra things change atleast a 'bit' after this & really we should look beyond cricket!

Sad but true..
We have lot of resources, but hardly any are utilized in the right direction with the right attitude..Insha Allah,we Indians will become on the top in medal list one day:)

Mampi said...

Pinku-I wish more Indians understood the shame in it. Though much water has flown since the post was put up, we now have three medals but it is still no consolation.

Monika-It is all media hype. If media started to highlight other games, they would be popular too. We need to understand that there has to be a balance in popularizing all games.

FlyingStars-I remember Abhinav said that one medal is no reason to celebrate, we should celebrate when we are like, winning 40 odd medals. And he is right.

Nimis-Amen, is all that a fellow Indian can say. Thanks for dropping by. Please keep visiting.
